How CSL Staffing is taking a proactive approach to workplace safety
CSL Staffing’s unique approach to recruitment and staffing has focused on creating pathways to success by harnessing quality jobs for employees and providing quality candidates to its clients. Now, with the introduction of a new workplace safety initiative and the creation of a safety team, the boutique staffing agency is going the extra mile and partnering with clients to help provide safe work environments while helping them remain compliant and up-to-date with work safety regulations..
Safe Conduct
A few weeks ago, CSL Staffing conducted their first on-site safety inspection at Henry Avocado Corporation in Escondido, California. Armed with an electronic tablet and a 100-point checklist, Zach Perez, CSL Staffing’s Risk Assessor and safety representative, methodically toured the facility where employees, hired through CSL Staffing, perform their daily work routine. He observed the workers in action and noted their working conditions while taking photographs and reviewing potential safety risks. .
When asked about conducting friendly safety checks like this particular one at Henry Avocado, Zach responded, “I like knowing that I’m helping to make workplace safety a top priority.”
A priority indeed. Some of the main points covered during the thorough inspection included the review of emergency and other alarm systems, workplace ergonomics, general housekeeping, and proper employee training, among many others.
Zach’s visit to Henry Avocado concluded with the creation of a detailed report outlining satisfactory items while highlighting any areas of concern. .
Going forward, these complimentary safety inspections and the subsequent reports will be offered to all of CSL Staffing’s valued clients.

Safe Reporting
At the conclusion of each safety inspection, a detailed report of the inspected items is made available to the client along with a rating of each item as well as any recommendations. The report is sent digitally to a client and made downloadable before the Risk Assessor (Zach) even leaves the building. How’s that for service!
“I tell our employers that my ‘friendly safety check’ is similar to a home inspection and not to worry. My aim is to inform clients of any potential issues and provide suggestions on how to correct them,” Zach said.
Safety Doesn’t Sleep
CSL Staffing is continuously seeking new ways to improve the services they provide and forge better partnerships with clients to drive mutual success. As a graduate of Cornell’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations, the company’s CEO, Pauline Gourdie, makes it a priority to keep herself and her team focused on new initiatives and regulations as they pertain to all aspects of Human Resources, including health and safety.

The ultimate goal of CSL Staffing’s safety team is to help reduce the likelihood of on-the-job-hazards in an effort to prevent injury and illness in the workplace through informal inspections.
